September 1'st 1999

September 1'st 1999 was probably the scariest day of my life, I woke up that morning no later then 2:00 am. Packed my things, my grandmother came over and we headed to the hospital. I was placed in a stretcher like thing, I was asked if I wanted a drink that would make me drowsy and make me fall asleep, so that I wouldn't be scared of the mask for anesthetic. All that I remember after that was while drowsy, I asked my mother for candy. When I was given the drowsy stuff, it was probably 4:00 am and I woke up at 5:00 pm. When I woke up I felt a sharp burning pain on my left side, and something that felt like a stick stabbing my tummy, I opened my eyes and saw my father and mother with the doctor who preformed the surgery standing over me.

I don't remember much of the that week that I was in the hospital but here is what I remember...

While the doctor was operating to remove my left kidney ( which was completly dead and would of destroyed my other kidney if it wasn't dealt with ASAP, resulting in dyalasys) he found that I had 2 left kidneys, an UNSEEN thing... they said I was probably one of the firsts in the world.

I ate a total of 32 Popsicles

There was a boy my age to my left, who had a serious problem if not more serious (I won't go into details for the sake of readers tummys) after I left the hospital I heard he passed away.

The medicine I was on made me see things, such as things crawling under the wallpaper. Which scared the daylight out of me.

Everyday somebody from church or relatives came to see me, my grandfather never came... I came to find out later because he didn't want to see me in that condition.

September 1'st is my parents anniversary.

I watched excessive amounts of TV.

When I went to the arcade I played video games with my feet, because I had an IV in one hand and some other thing in the other.

The bed was always uncomfortable.

Since then I've decided I'd like to go to medical school and help people with the same problem I had. First I'd like to get a degree in Electrical Engineering, Then Masters in business and then if the lord wills medical school.

By the grace of God I survived.
